Silverstone half marathon

It's raining so looks like it's gonna be wet weather tyres for the run ;)

Yet again the Run MND team are out in force. These are amazing people who never give up the fight to find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease. I'm also running for Alzheimer's Research UK for my Dad.

Run Update: Well the weather forecast was inaccurate as it rained for much of the run. I was surprised by how much surface water accumulated on the F1 Grand Prix, so our feet were soaked from the start. Despite my better judgement, I set off quickly trying to follow Matty Platten, one of our 'younger' Run MND members who's much faster than me. As another indication of how the marathon training is working I was able to maintain a very consistent, relatively quick pace, from mile one to the finish. For the record I ran 1hr 46 min 31secs, my 5th fastest out of 43 half marathons. It was tough going but the London Marathon is going to be much harder albeit slower. God knows how hard the Everest Marathon will be, an order of magnitude?

Christine ran with several of her regular running and training partners and carried a banner around the route, not an easy task as the wind picked up toward the end. Out of interest the banner went around in a PB time of 2 hr 26 min 13 sec
